JDRMCB for example proves the point that I'm trying to make is how do you put two coins together press them in a vice but only have one part of the other coin show up on it. The coin you're showing me you can see letters and markings over the entire thing not just one section

Coop if you looked at the coin of the picture you put on there you can see another coin was pressed against it this coin only has one section not the entire back so how do you press two different coins together and only get one part of the other coin impressed on it. I would love to see someone take two coins press them together and advice and only get one section of the other coin that you're pressing into it. If anybody has ever worked with a press or a hydraulic press you know that when two metal objects touch each other and you press them together you're going to get the entire surface area with markings not just one piece. I may not be articulating this correctly but I don't know if anyone's getting what I'm saying. And I didn't pay anything for it I found it in a bag of coins that I'm going through.

Once again, it's been explained to you twice. Depends how hard you squeeze it. Quote:

The two high points of each coin come together first. Maybe they weren't pressed at the same pressure. The left half of the coins were in the jaws of the vise and the right half didn't receive as much pressure. Thats why the rim of the dime pressed into the left side of the penny. Or hit with a hammer on the left side.

I don't think it really matters how the dime was pressed into the cent. The fact that it could not happen during the striking of the coin makes it PMD |

I mentioned to the seller it was a fake, but he sold it anyway.

I didn't know he was selling it. People really need to know what they are selling before they sell it. It gives the hobby a bad name.

I hope no one thinks I'm giving anybody a hard time. I'm just trying to fully understand and with my knowledge of vices and presses I know it's not easy to make that Mark. Thanks again for everyone that, commented.

Maybe it is time to do a Mythbusters style science experiment to test different squeeze pressures in a vise?
We can start small scale on some miniature replicas, and go to full scale once we are confident.

Grushna this is what I was asking I'm new at this I'm not trying to give anyone a hard time or seeing what I want to see I'm asking questions how do you press a coin in and only get one impression when they're all the same height. And if someone was referring that I saw this coin no I didn't I still have it in my possession and I've never sold a coin. Like I said I have a large amount of coins that I'm going through that were my father's he wasn't a collector but saved coins. I'm just going through them trying to learn all I can so the negatives that I'm looking and seeing what I want to see isn't my point I'm asking questions so I can learn. And thank you for everyone that has commented.
