to the CCF Definitely damage as that would have occurred after the coin was struck.

Post mint damage, intentional or accidental doesn't really matter, damage is damage.

Looks like a vise job with a 64D Lincoln Cent. Can't tell if there is an RPM or not.

After looking at a 64D, the numbers are not right for that year, the 9,6 or 4. Don't think it's dropped letter though, just for that reason. Not sure. Another denomination?

sure looks like a 1964 in reverse to me. I think I'll compare the real '64 to these as well.

After looking again, it looks pretty good for a 64D cent. I guess you can't expect perfection with a garage job.

Thank you for all the welcomes. My dad and I have been collecting for quite a while but just to collect, we haven't paid much attention to looking for errors. As age crept up, eye sight got worse and I quit collecting, even magnifiers didn't help. Just had a friend show me their digital microscope and WOW.... jumped back in with both feet. I have some catching up to do. Thank you for all the input and research done to explain this coin to me.

to the CCF When I first looked at it, I thought how did they turn the 4 90 degrees. Then it hit me.

Your coin has the marks of another coin stamp on. This is happened only after strike. The microscope is good for some details to be sure, but it is an no need auxiliary tool for determinate the coin.
