With the new pictures I want to say partially filled MM rather then an RPM but still no expert on those varieties.

Just die wear. Note the '8' is showing the same thing. Not a mintmark issue, but a die issue with die wear showing on that area.

How is die wear if it's going in a figure 8 shape? Nothing is pushed or slided, I'll post a better clear picture for you.

Note on the first image. You can see the same thing on the mintmark and on the date on that digit. It is just die wear.

Just a worn out punch. This is the mm I brought up a couple of times before. They discovered it was a reused punch from the 50's. Scroll down to the bottom pics and look at the one on the far right. Yours is a later stage of this reused punch.

Link for explanation http://www.varietyvista.com/Mystery...%20Punch.htm

Link for the mm style MMS-005/MMS-002, which are the same mint marks, used in different timelines. http://www.varietyvista.com/07%20Ro...20Styles.htm

The explanation is using the Lincoln Cent but as pointed out by coop, in another thread, the same punches were used in all denominations. The long and short of it, is your mint mark is normal.

So did you read it, what was in the link? It will give you a leg up on many here that have not. I think coop was one of the few that did.... I saw he added it to his CoopHome, awhile back.

Here is Ray's pic, next to yours. I did the best I could with yours.
Hope you can see the resemblance.

Also the die is aging. Note the ghost outlines of the die wear showing on the mintmark.design/devices are all showing the same die event.

These are like pot holes on dies. Most of the time the die chips are next to the fields and devices area. But slowly the dies breakdown. Not a big thing, it will just continue to enlarge (like pot holes do when the area is ignored. It could be polished off, but probably not a big thing at this point. (die polishing will reduce the fields and the sizes of the dies devices. The removal would preserve the die. So dhow the road this may happen.

It is a community effort to advance knowledge to others. I try to help posters see, what I see on their coin. When this is happens all are happy.
