I've been having more of a look and close compare to others and it does seem to be about VG10. Here is the lowest price sold for F12, which was $235. You can see that it has a lot less wear than yours, on the obverse especially. I would set a maximum bid of $150 for this because graded it might even come back VG08 due to the obverse wear. https://coins.ha.com/itm/barber-hal...ption-071515

thanks Folks. the Barbers are not in my wheelhouse. I have it at VG10 and borderline F12. I dont see anything that would indicate that it would pull a details designation.
I'm the current high bidder at $13 on a proxy bid with my high bid set at $81. auction ends tomorrow. i'll let you know if I get it. i'll watch it close as I dont think its going to go for that price. I may turn this one around if I get it as I dont collect them or just hold onto it for a little while as this year seems to be a better date.

Nice original surfaces, VG10, some minor rim bumps at H and TES (reverse) I believe that it would straight grade

This caught my eye: Any chance this is a 1914-S with a removed mm?

Bummer...didnt get this one. I think she had a shot F and messed up my final bid in the last 15sec it didnt go through. not sure what happened but she hammered at $91. I think they got a steal on this one. I dont do much buying these days so my bidding skills are a little lacking and wanted to error on the side of caution when bidding it. - live and learn

Some VG08's have sold for about $100 so it might not be so cheap.

Panzaldi this one is alright but look at it like this, there's a lot of these out there with a heck of a lot more bang than this one. For another hundred bucks you can get 3 x the coin with some dark toning. I love these things but I hold out a little more now and look these over for those lookers. Are you trying for the series. Oh boy if you are watch out you will want doubles and triples. VG-8 maybe 10 but at VG-10 its missing that almost fine look.

Quote: Are you trying for the series I'm actually not purchasing any new pieces and based on health issues have sold off quite a bit of my collection however, I saw this one and thought it was a decent piece and barbers seem to getting more attention. I was looking for a quick turnaround or short term hold due to the low mintage and interest in the series

Yes Barber quarters are going for a noticeable increase over 2018 - 2019. Good looking commons certified go $28 - 50 bucks in PQ VG. Better dates command easily over 50 bucks. A nice book of G+'s even without the 1913 S and 1901 O gets hefty quickly and racks up quickly. Great thing about the series is their attainable and some nice raws are still out there in folders and coin boxes. I'm bugging on dimes, GC has a real nice VG-10 1895 O up to $730 that coin even in an ANACS holder looks F-12 to me. Bet it goes near $1,000 maybe 1,100.00 the TPG's are grading some worn ugly coins as G-4 straight grade. The 1895 O dime spices things up yet anyone with enough dough will find a nice VG if they are patient.
