How fast will the silvers commems sell out? Anybody here willing to do a co-op to buy an extra? Do they sell out fast enough that it is necessary?
If so - let me know and I'll get an extra if I can get it at 12.

Quote: How fast will the silvers commems sell out? Personally I don't think they will sell out although it is Lincoln. the last modern Commem to reach 500,000 I believe was The marine Corp Anniversary 2005 The special set containing the 4 pennies at a limit of 50,000 is a different story, that will probably sell out on day 1

I am in Hodgenville on the bleachers listening to the presentation right now! There is a 10 roll limit but I was told you can go through the line several times but there is about 300 people here. They have some nice literature they gave out. I am taking photos and will share later.

Just ordered my two Lincoln Proofs........ By the way, it does say that this is just a short term "introductory price".....it'll go up in March !... Quote: The introductory price of $37.95 will be in effect from 12:00 noon (ET), on February 12, 2009, through 5:00 pm (ET), on March 16, 2009, after which the regular price of $41.95 will be in effect.

Quote: I also found out that the special LINCOLN Comm- proof silver dollar and the 4-different proof cents will be offered in spring( no date as of yet ) and the limit you can order per house hold is 5-sets,these sets will have the same alloy mixture as in the original alloy mixture of 1909, and the same "old style " coins will be in the Uncirculated sets, and the proof sets. I am REALLY looking forward to this! Too bad they don't add in two more pennies, just for this set; a 2009 wheat VDB and a 2009 wheat non-VDB. For old time's sake!

Well I was trying to get my order in on line, as per the call I made yesterday, "all will work fine by phone or online", well, I do not know how everyone else did but I tried on line and the service was a snails pace( I guess the volume ) and tried the phone and was told please try again later, so back on line and eventually did get my order placed. Did everyone else receive the same message, when you ordered on line" the coin is back ordered and will ship out on the 29th! Maybe things are a little behind, the 1st day the message is "the coin is back-ordered", some thing is not right, list a date you can order and find that out. Sometimes I think the U S Mint has toooo much on their plate, and should either offer less, or become more organized, well I hope everyone who wanted this coin did place their order and all is well, ENJOY, Mike...

Anyone who ordered the coins today actually 'pre-ordered' them at the introductory prices. Yes, I got the same message.... Quote:From Mint News Blog: "According to a recent article from Coin World, the proof coins will be priced at $37.95 and the uncirculated coins will be priced at $31.95. These prices will apply for coins ordered during the pre-issue discount period (February 12 - March 26, 2009)." Mint News Blog Link
