AU50, hoping for some better pics soon when it's in hand.

This coin is very dark and unfortunately would not likely straight grade IMO. Reasonably attractive, but it looks like an old cleaning would detail it. Potentially artificially retoned.

Thanks for the responses! I bought the coin hoping that it would grade out at about an AU-50/AU-53. I'll be interested to see how the coin looks in hand, and I'll let everyone know if there are any hairlines that I can detect whenever I get it in the mail. I'll try to snap some better photos, but my camera's not the best, so I'm not sure if I'll be able to get some decent pictures.

Toning doesn't look original to me.

I just received the coin in the mail today. I'll preface the pictures by saying two things: 1. My phone's camera is far from superb, so I'm sorry that the pictures provided aren't the best. 2. I've examined this coin closely, and I'm happy to report that I do not see any rub marks or hairline scratches indicative of a cleaning. With that said, the coin definitely exhibits plenty of toning while retaining some of its original mint state luster. With that said, I'd love to hear everyone's thoughts on the grade of the coin now.

Can you post some pics of the coin outside the coin flip. The light will reflect different off the coin than it will through the plastic. From these the surfaces do not look original, a bit too reflective.

Sure, here are a couple of photos taken from outside of the holder. Even though the pictures aren't great, this is unfortunately as good as it'll get with my camera.

This coin looks better than the seller's photos. Still appears to have been cleaned, and the dark toning is very good at concealing fine hairlines. It looks to have been artificially toned, that green and blue central color is unusual. Strong luster in protected areas, I will bump my grade from XF-45 up to AU-50.

The color is questionable and my grade would be AU50 if it straight grades.

It appears to be a very nice piece. I agree with some of the other posts that it may well have been recolored.

i still like it at AU53

the natural color toning progression for silver is the following. I think the coins toning is in line with this

Yellow
Brown
Blue
Red
Green
Purple
Black
