1972 D LMC - CCl(T1)-1c-1972-D-01

Yea that's a top notch die clash there! I recently purchased one myself. A Washington of course.

Here is more evidence of a counter clash not described in the listing. Black arrows indicate clashed event that transferred the design causing counter clash while the turquoise arrows show the counter clash. The "Y" is described in CCL(T1)-1c-1972D-01 but not the "T" because it was a later strike or circulation wear.

The Y in bay 2 and T in bay 1 on reverse are from the first clash and the second clash transferred those designs back to the obverse (counter clash). Look where the black arrow is pointing to in bay 1 then look at where the turquoise arrow is pointing to on obverse between the top of T and Y. The top bar of the T clash in bay 1 has a tip of the Y on the left and a tip of the T on the right overlapping it and the gap in between is where the turquoise arrow on obverse is pointing to. This should be a new listing but who knows when maddieclashes will start taking new submissions. This should also be listed in the atypical die clash section.

I'm happy to see this coin made it into the Errorscope Jan/Feb 2024 issue!! I was hoping to see that this would be a new listing on maddieclashes but ultimately Jason decided it was the same clash. I still do believe that this example is showing clashing and counterclashing not seen on CCL-1c-1972D-01.
