$1700, I overpaid.

I don't know about that?
Recent auctions show a 62 sell for $2900-$3100 and 63 for $4500-$7800
I guess the question is? Since you have it in hand...does it look cleaned to you?
I think it looks beautiful!
MS-63 for me

jerry a little too much glare from the lighting to see the surfaces properly. looks like a LDS. check out those rear legs. the split tail is exceptional. without less glare to determine if there is any actual wear I have it at AU58 or MS62 and I'm leaning toward the MS62 side. either way you did fine with that price

The cheek and the hip are pretty smooth from rubbing. There are some signs of wear on the hip. I don't see any fine lines as if it were cleaned. The glare is unavoidable. If I change the lighting, everything is darkened. Here are some pics with the coin at an angle to the light.

Surfaces look better there, but based on the angle of the first pics, I'm sticking with a high AU Details coin.

Are you sending this off for grading?

I'm thinking about it. I want to see another one that I won and will then decide whether to send the 2 3-legs and the '15 2 feather in together.

Whats going on with the third feather on this one? Die polished or perhaps considered a 2 1/2 feather?

That's a diagnostic for a 3-leg. Broken 3rd feather.

Thanks Jerry, thats good to know. I have seen others, all with the telltale pee stream and the rough hind leg but normal on the third feather. First time I am seeing the partial feather here. Congrats!

Separation of the 3rd feather was due to die polishing. As Jerry Picker mentioned, a good DM for the 3 leg. Not enough abrading of the 3rd to be considered a 2 1/2 feather though. Not trying to hijack the thread, but below is an example of a 37-D 2 1/2 Feather.

Looks like an attractive example. I am far from an expert on buffalos and this one quickly blew past what I was comfortable bidding on it. I think you may have done well with this one @Jerry Picker.

ANACS deemed it AU Cleaned. Ty2020b nailed it.

The first set of photo makes me think is MS, the second set said AU, but difficult to say cleaned or not.

Nice coin.
