see if you can get a better closer photo of the MM. too much glare so dont use any overhead light. best is indirect lighting maybe a window sill on a cloudy day would help, if you are using a phone try holding it about 3" above the coin until its in focus then zoom in using your fingers. you may need to place books or something on either side of it to lay the phone over it in order to not move the phone while you are zooming.
you did not post a photo of the 91S morgan

The mm is in the wrong location for a genuine 1944S steel cent. It has either been plated or it is a counterfeit.

Well we can all agree that it is not a plated 1944-S copper cent . I'm not sure where the MM should be on a genuine 44-S steel cent . But dar gonit the coin sure looks good to me . Need weight and magnet test .

Location of mm on a genuine 1944S steel cent. Note it is a different style and lower when compared to the OP's coin Add comment

Interesting - I think I'll wait for the requested information first. (magnetic or not and weight)

Pictures too weak to tell much - could be photoshopped even.
Agree with BH/Jimmy above.

Anxiously awaiting the results of the weight and magnetic properties. Quote: ... Location of mm on a genuine 1944S steel cent. Are you saying all 1944 S steel cents will have the same mint mark location? Or are you saying the two known examples are from the same die pair? Why couldn't newly discovered ones have been struck by different die pairs resulting in a different MM location?

I didnt photoshop any photos. I'm not sure where the post went with the morgan but I will add it in comments again. I am getting 2.8g for weight and it stuck to a magnet when put it against it. I'm not sure what your meaning when you are asking for a better lighting on a certain part but this coin was just in a roll my grandfather who passed left me and so far all the rest in it have been 1943-D steel ones but like I've stated I have very little knowledge so thats why Ive decided to check with people that know a thing or 2 lol. Might be fake,i dont know. But if so whoever did it is amazing cause in person it looks like its suppose too..to me atleast lol

So the Morgan dollar coin was made seperate from this post and that is why its not showing what I posted here. So theres a seperate post in same forum of the 1891S Morgan dollar for those interested in seeing that one. This ones just for the dime now.sorry for confusion, I'm a newbie here.
