True Descending Ladder Note

I had no idea! Thank you. I knew I had pay for grading, but I was unaware that there are auction sites that would grade it for me. I think I may go that route to save some money. If I start finding a lot more to be graded then I may consider the membership. Thank you!

I mailed it off to Great Collections This morning. I can't wait to see what grade it gets and where its value falls. I'll let you all know as soon as I hear from them. Thank y'all!!

Well, great collections just emailed me saying that they are sending it back because the cost to grade would be more than its value. I can't say that I agree, but oh well. When I get it back I'll probably throw it on ebay. Would y'all recommend getting it graded first or not?

That's the way I'm leaning. It's in pretty good shape minus the vertical fold, so I feel like I should be able to get at least $500-$750.

Thats too bad as GC is a good auction site with lots of traffic. I wonder if the employee at Great Collections who evaluated it either didnt research values of these type of fancy serial numbers or they just dont know enough about them yet to want to deal with them as many are indeed low value. In this case I would say for the point of it/learning I'd go ahead and grade it myself and then auction on ebay. Depending on the results I might even mention it back to GC so they might accept them later for others although A) they have plenty of other big hitters on their site selling for quite alot of money where they may just not want to deal with them and B) this note is a recent series and not uncirculated so perhaps they just dont want to deal with these notes that arent guaranteed to be in the typical value range for a top quality example. Anyway thanks for sharing and hope the best if you go forward with it. I cant believe it would sell for less than grading fees unless there was no traffic to see and bid on it. Of course it can also be tried as a buy it now first with a make best offer to gauge demand or pricing.

This example is very similar to yours except for the grade. I would value your note at approximately 50% of the below note. So, somewhere around $600 -$700.
