To Community, Whatever the cause may be, this is a severely damaged coin perhaps a parking lot coin and nothing more!! too bad but it's been around a long time and has done it's service. |

once a coin is damaged that much it's difficult to say exactly what happened, especially if subsequent cirtculation has smoothed the evidence

Possible lamination on reverse - now very worn down, or possibly material (like solder) was dropped onto the coin long ago.

to the CCF The semicircle on the obverse is from another coin. I think the rest on the obv and rev is a result of this coin being in a fire a long time ago. Fire does a lot of strange things too coins. In any case, this is all damage. |
