Cool off center mint error! These as coinfrog said are definitely worth a premium value.

It looks like a pre-1982 cent since this is dateless and don't see any zinc exposure.

Very cool! I may be seeing some zinc exposure. Unsure, given the images posted. Suggest checking ebay sold/completed sale info for off center strikes on Lincoln cents.

How'd you come across it? Again, very cool.

Nice find
It is an off centre strike, not real rare but worth a premium.
It would be worth more if the date was showing
but as is it is probably worth $10-15.00.

Thank you for the information. I honestly have no idea where it came from, it ended up in the change container.

@base, can you please give us the weight of this cent? Thx.

A super find at face value and definitely worth saving in a 2x2.

I agree - nice off-center strike. Would be worth more if it had a date, but this is worth a few $.

very nice off center strike. Nice color Dated between 1959-1982 (copper) Maybe somebody can narrow down the date further with the fonts. Very cool find though.

Dearborn, Look at it again. This is a zinc cent.

Is it a zinc because of the black areas above US of A?

Knowing the weight would let us know for sure.

Congrats on a nice "surprise" find.

I agree with Cujohn about this being zinc. The dark areas above "TED STATES" is the zinc showing through the split plating. The "darkness" in the recess areas might be confused with grime or dirt at first glance. Split plating doesn't occur on "solid" copper cents.
