to the CCF Looks like struck through something. To my eye it's simply a random shape. If you are 'seeing' pieces of Lincoln in that blob then click the hyperlink for Pareidolia.

I could be mistaken and the picture might not do it justice but the hairline lines up and the outline over the body of Lincoln is the same shape as Lincoln's outline of pennies so from what I can see, it appears to be the outline of him but like I said, I could absolutely be mistaken. There are many people much more knowledgeable than I am on these matters.

I can see the outline and Lincolns ear too if you look real close it's quite obvious, I'm not sure of the value of this error & but it's very I terestimg. Welcome to ccf Alun

Thanks User1975, probably because not best picture but at first I figured maybe a grease strike through or something but at least in person, it has clear characteristics that lead me to believe it is somehow the Lincoln design. The shape/outline, the hair in particular and the ear are 2 specific designs I was able to make out which lead me to that conclusion. If I'm wrong, then I'm wrong haha but I'm fairly certain somehow Lincoln's design somehow was struck over the date on this penny. If anyone else has any ideas/input, id love to hear it please! Thanks again everyone!

The line going down the face is a deep scratch. The other might be a strike through.

First off, you have a nice coin that is a "struck through" as others have said. Probably a decent glob of grease. I know you're excited with your find but the seller in your link doesn't know his elbow from Shinola. 1996 DDO-001 has no DDR as they claim in the listing title. Those sites/sellers are after clicks and aren't interested in honesty or accuracy. (and now I feel "dirty" having been there. LOL) As for anything above LIBERTY I can't tell from the images. The image would need to be clearer. As for your coin being a DDO and DDR .... Nope. (I think the last DDO / DDR combo was back in the 1940's.)

I'm new to this stuff so hence why I'm asking. And I didnt mean ots worth much necessary or that the link I posted is accurate. I was just referencing it for the image. It seemed my coin had similar characteristics of the coin in that image. I know people post crazy misinformation and insane prices inaccurately. Thats why I'm here to try to get correct information from people more informed than I am. That's all. Thank you all for your help!
