Just attractive environmental toning, common on copper cents.

I like the idea of it being a end roll coin. I think it is beautiful and would keep in a 2x2.

EML, looks like it might be a spike head. I think it goes to the edge.

@EMLCoinCollector
The prominent line running through his forehead is a design element of a vain.

I'll have to say with the thousands and thousands of cents I've searched, I've never seen a vein in his head.

@Cujohn
i understand what your saying and I have been recognizing a difference between years and mints of small differences in Lincoln cents ABE.
with the above image of the 1993 P lets compare it to a 2003 D.
in the hair line running into the forehead, left and the Vein/ Hair ? position on the forehead.

I have copied stock photos of coins to use when OP`s have inquired about things they think they see as Errors and just turn out to be part of a design element with or without PMD . the photos come from a source for US coin values and prices.

I always accepted this as a design change along the way.

Me neither! Now that I look closer I am finding them on many, but not all. Probably nothing or did I stumble on something? lol

been puzzled by myself, but never pointed it out to OP`s arguing about seeing things like DD ears, nose, and throats.
Sometimes I feel like a Doctor being asked medical questions.
I forgot to mention that I too see something above his head leading past the "W".

I do too and to make it worse you start trying to find things that mostly arent't there. lol

There *is* something above his head now that you mention it.

This hobby is so fun-so many possibilities!
