This penny has multiple errors and variations. The face/front has the letter T in trust that looks like a Y. Possible double stamped in the letters and numbers. They seem to be extra thick. On the reverse, there is several examples. An extra leaf, steam, boarder error on the right side leaf edge. On the left leaf, there is extra gradients at the top (possibly from the dye leaking) at the bottom of the right leaf, the end is smudged/smashed due too what looks like a double stamp print. You can clearly see the 2 indents where it was pressed twice. As well as a indentation around the word (ONE). I have tried finding similar coins of this nature and there isn't any. No records of this happening. I believe it is a one off, or the die crack at the facility was caught and all repeats of the same errors as mine where destroyed. If you have any info on this coin, I would appreciate hearing from you.

to the CCF! I see the Die Crack at the bottom of the wheat on the right. I think that's what you're referring to as an 'extra stem.' As for a possible double strike, I'm not seeing anything that would indicate that.

To CCF! Die Cracks are common on the Wheat Cents from the 1950's, as they overused the dies beyond normal retirement.
Errers and Varietys.

And, suggest flattening those 2x2 staples.

Yes dye cracks are common, but not like the ones on this penny. Show me another Wheat penny that has a double stamp engraving on the reverse with an error edge on the right leaf.

Please explain to us how a "double stamp engraving" happens during the minting process.

Best to remove coins from 2x2 holders before taking photos which is what I suggest. Also as mentioned, flatten those staples. You do not want to damage other coins when/if stacking. John1

A double stamp engraving happens when the coin is stuck to the top of the imprinting machine when it goes down to press in the design. This can happen due to several things, including grease on the surface of the machine. (Allows ease for removing the coins) which results in the coin being pressed back down onto another coin. There is other error/variety coins out there with this same engraving/indentation.

What I think you're tying to describe, with all the wrong terms, is a die cap. That is not what this is, it's a die crack. I don't know where you're coming up with the term "engraving" (someone on Facebook maybe?) but all the engraving is completely done long before the press starts running. I'm also confused because you say... Quote:Show me another Wheat penny that has a double stamp engraving on the reverse with an error edge on the right leaf. And then you say.... Quote: There is other error/variety coins out there with this same engraving/indentation.

first off - to CCF, Looking at the Lincoln cents online resource - there is not one mention of anything you state in your posts above. I just see an normal cent so far, one with a die (not dye) crack on the reverse. The obverse side (as you stated - face/front) looks normal too, but then the image is far too small to see details you are explaining.
