Is there a way to distinguish a business strike from the proof strike for that year?

Rare to see a 21 that nice. Technically 63, assuming there's nothing under that plastic damage, but since it's a 21 I'd go up to 64. Possibly PL too. Great coin.

Plastic is definitely not doing this coin any favors. MS-64PL

agree with better than average strike. reverse looks normal. breast is a little flat which is more a typical strike. out of focus obv photo. don't like the reverse photo through the holder. who knows what this coin looks like out of the holder.

MS63 maybe 64PL without better photos. I'm assuming all these morgans are not owned by you to be able to give us better photos.'
if the coin grades straight and pulls a PL designation than its a great buy at 63 and even a good buy at 62. if it details or doesn't get PL then not so much.

63

PL is extremely scarce for 1921's. I do not think this coin has full cameo to qualify (looks like the contrast has been bumped.)

Reverse definitely looks PL, hard to say with the obverse photo. In any event, this is a better than average '21. Looking forward to your photos when she arrives. Is it in a TPG slab or a generic? It needs a plastic polishing either way.

This came in. It doesn't look prooflike to me although the grader apprently thought so. There is some frosting in the devices but the contrast isn't that strong. Blur in lower left of reverse was due to sticker adhesive residue that I was able to remove. Thoughts? Thanks!

Your photos don't make it look PL. Just MS-64 based on them

Very nice coin. Definitely the 17 berry reverse as I can see the extra berry in the photos and the top feather is to the middle talon. I can't see enough of the markers to see if this is a 1AG or not but it's certainly got plenty of scribbles.

For a long time any well-struck 1921 with prooflike aspects to its surfaces and the D1 (17 berry) reverse was being called a "Zerbe dies" coin.

For some reason I thought it was in a top 3 TPG.

The pictures are inconsistent, if it's not PL in hand I would return it.
