There are no '64 clad dimes known.
There's a single 1964 clad quarter in very nice AU. I actually got to see it and put a bid on it but it was too low.

The Coinage Act of 1965 that enabled clad coinage was enacted in July 1965 https://www.govinfo.gov/content/pkg...4.pdf#page=1While the mint was certainly working on the clad coin concept long before the act was signed, they would have been quite careful as they would not have been legal coins. Today all this kind of work on alternative compositions is done using nonsense dies. With good reason as some of those have leaked out.

Quote: The Coinage Act of 1965 that enabled clad coinage was enacted in July 1965 I'm sure you're aware of this but the mint was striking silver and clad coins simultaneously from a bout September of 1965 until around March of 1966. During this time there were many chances for silver or clad coin to end up on the wrong die. Many 1965 silver dimes are known and about 8 '65 silver quarters but there are no clad dimes and only a single clad quarter dated 1964.

Maybe it doesn't really exist? I'm not sure what a picture of one is going to do for you anyway. How can you tell whether it's silver or clad from an image? It seems like what you want is evidence that one was sold at auction or certified by a TPG, and I'm not finding anything other than articles or forum posts saying that they exist. You're chasing a unicorn.

True, cladking. From what I can discern, my 1965 silver quarter was minted between August 1965 and the switchover to 1966 dies. Ginger Rapsus's book mentions that switchover date to the 1966 dies if I remember right. I always wanted one because 1965 is my birth year. Finally the dream came true.

I always wanted one because 1965 is my birth year. Finally the dream came true. Congratulations!!! It's a great symbol and representation of a tumultuous time at the mint and in the coin collecting hobby. It should also get more interest as the years go by.
