A few have stated indeed it's a struck thru grease but it was cleaned after. Bc of the color.
But I don't believe that to be the case did expect to be more going on with it if it were clean.
The water marks are still seen the darker grey spots they show up like that as well on a blank /Planchet and the color is that of one too.

. a thicker rim says ' Dryer Coin' to me also.. Maybe just one trip..

Most def not a Dryer Coin. Characteristics aren't close to that at all.
I've got a whole box of 2023 most of the Pennie's are the same way I got this box in the beggining once they started pushing out the new Pennie's.
The apperance of the rim being extra shiny is due to that of the strike it's slightly stronger possible and the dies are newer and haven't been used much.
And it being extra thick is all due to that of being struck. I've seen it plenty of times on shields common per se.

Is it just my eyes or is RTY thicker than usual?

The vertical of the T sure looks thicker than the crossbar.

Yea it looks thicker.
I think that's due to the grease.

Looks like a Greaser.
Looks like the grease made BERTY larger/thicker.

?
Grease may fill a device on a die but grease doesn't cause a device on a die to expand or get larger.

Maybe thicker planchets happened to be used during that run of cents (weight?). And looks to be a Struck Through Grease example. Material in the die devices make them gone or larger thicker - polishing makes them gone or smaller thinner.

Compared to other uncirculated shields the design rim is sharp and very well defined when struck.
