Well a bit off from the original topic and to the point of the second one mentioned in this topic( I can't find any topic to relate to the 2023 Boxes being in error, so I'll put it here in hope a mod can find it and move it over (if a topic exists , that is)

Anyway, I just got 6 new proof set boxes for my 2023 Quarters, (clad and silver) and 2 boxes each for the complete silver and clad proof sets. as stated above - didn't ask for them they just appeared in my mailbox. Now I hope that the COA's of 2024 arrive the same way... (one can hope).

In March, I sent an email to the USM re: the COA errors:

Quote:
The COA for the 2024 proof set has two errors:
1) The description of the Dollar's Reverse is " American Indians in Ballet". That was the description of the 2023 Dollar which featured Maria Tallchief. The correct description of the 2024 Dollar's Reverse should be "Indian Citizenship Act of 1924."
2) The COA attributes the design of the Dollar to Ben Sowards. According to the USM press release for the coin, the 2024 Native American $1 Coin reverse was "designed and sculpted by Phebe Hemphill. . ." Source: https://www.usmint.gov/news/press-r...20Americans.

I suppose the Mint will have new COA's printed and mailed out. It would be cheaper to hire a better proofreader.

I received a boilerplate "form email" a day later advising they regretted my "order was not satisfactory" along with a recitation of the USM return policy.
Has anyone seen a news blurb / notice regarding this issue ?

Well, just like the 2023 box fiasco, of which I received new "Correct" ones later on from the mint, I would 'assume' that now the mint knows if its error 'again', the same thing may happen, and we'll get new ones in the mail.

Which is why the mint probably raised prices - due to their ineptitude to cover costs on fixing their errors..

Perhaps they could start using plain white boxes with a QR link to a webpage, which is much easier to amend.

Remember those generic brands from the 80s? Yeah, it would be like that.

Exactly what I was imagining and I am glad you caught it!

As another example, does anyone remember the Dharma Initiative?

Their supplies used the same generic black lettering on white containers, although they also had the DHARMA logo.
