Then he's trying to rip off some unsuspecting buyer because 40% quarters don't exist,do they? Pretty sure that's only the half dollars that were 40% from 65-70.

Nope. The only silver I think might be his tongue.

Oh, Ah!. I just made pillar'dom (wiping the tears away), I'd like to thank all the people who made this moment possible. Thanks to the moderators for keeping me in line. Its not easy for me sometimes. I,I,I don't feel worthy. I promise to do my best to do my duty to help answer questions even though I'm probably wrong more than I'm right.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!. (walks away with his flowers, then trips on his shoelaces).

A.

The only 40% silver quarters were the special Bicentennial releases in '75-'76.

As always with ebay (or any sales) - caveat emptor.

Obviously the same way he knows these Quarter's are 40% Silver. The problem with these idyutz is there's always someone coming along with less smarts that will get suckered in. Personally I preferred ebay the way it was, so any potential bidder could be warned. The way it is now, ebay "security" works better for the crooks. ~ Jim

I get auctions pulled every day, almost always in under 2 hours. People just need to cut their griping 60 seconds short and use it to report them.

Of course, letting the seller know that he's been exposed publicly helps too.

To answer the question about 40% silver quarters, weren't some of the Bicentennial quarters 40% silver? Pretty sure they are the only ones. None from 1965-1968, sorry "Jim".

I am not an ebay user, but I think that if this is the only course of action left then everyone should make use of it.

i think there are actually may be an extremely small number of 40% silver quarters from the late 60's. There might be a few struck on half dollar planchets making them 40% silver
