I've ripped open (carefully...) a few dozen old looking yellow and blue 2x2 flips over the years. Someone told me long ago they date back to the 50s and 60s. Once opened, into the trash I sent them.

Why does your title call this a 'Cull'. That term specifically applies to coins worn down to barely identifiable.

I see a coin that is likely AU state, certainly not a Cull

Fun followup, I removed the coin from that old lovely holder.

I think its cleaned to, these small hairlines are visible if one magnifies
Back looks better but maybe some thin hairlines, so sad to do this to a coin that don't show much wear.

Well it was 35$ so no tears shed

moniker, stay away from the angled photos. give us straight on shots of both sides. the reverse shot although angled does look like it was dipped however there appears to be luster hanging around so it may not be over the line to a details coin.

yes moniker, you got it! don't change anything. the photos are what we are looking for.

the coin does appear to be dipped, however, there is some luster on both sides which tells me it wasnt over dipped and could possibly pull a straight grade. they might net the coin down to MS62 though

There are very fine hairlines on both sides and a trace of wear, so I'd say AU details, cleaned. Hard to go wrong at $35 though.

Thank you both. I'm leaning ms62 and possible cleaned I don't see much wear on highpoints, but some coindings and scrathces in face makes higher than ms62 hard. Will cleaning make so tiny hairlines? I'm used to se more articulated lines? see the closeup of face I posted before

I'm looking really close at that new obv photo moniker and I'm seeing not only what zurie is saying about some signs of light circulation but also very light hairlines across the surfaces which could indicate a wiping of some sort. its not harsh. try rotating the coin and see if you can see them crossing the cheek. it could details the coin, however, for $35 you really can't go wrong
