I'll go with Fine details. Leave it as is.

look like an older cleaning but nothing to harm the coin. a coin at this grade has seen a lot of pockets and banging other coins so all the marks are expected. I think acetone would probably remove the remainder of imbedded grime. I'm not 100% certain they would pass it even though the rim issues are minor. pretty much any CC is a good CC
I'm going with VF20 details (ED)

VF-20 and might straight grade if the black junk came off after an Acetone bath. If not, then VF details grade.

Dipping in acetone could only help it. I would not dip it in EZest or anything similar

Or it's carbon spotting and won't impact the spots at all? Right?

This coin should absolutely be left alone at this point.

It's likely corrosion and unlikely to be removable. I've seen similar on other Morgan dollars and it's usually not removable. By all means, give it a shot, but don't expect miracles.

This Coin is good, no dipping.

I vote for acetone. Unlikely that the black spots come off, but I don't see acetone making it look any less eye appealing than the current state.

Agree with an acetone bath, unlikely to help, but reasonable to try. Quote: The group seems divided on whether I should dip it or not ... "Dipping" usually refers to using E-zest or something similar, not acetone. No one on this thread has suggested dipping this coin, which would only make it less attractive.

Quote: Or it's carbon spotting and won't impact the spots at all? Right? that is correct but carbon spots look different than this. great closeup of the those areas Roma. too me it looks organic. I don't think acetoning the coin would affect its value. the only thing it could do is lighten the overall coin just to give you an idea on value. I found one thats very similar to yours, it was listed for $255 and was graded F15 cleaned and one VF details for $199. I found two details that sold VF 20 details for $137 the other VF20 details for $160
