Alright, Brand, did some more digging and I guess when you go to a different year in the same denomination, the numbers start over. I found NGC listings that show the different merc varieties and they don't repeat the same FS# in the same year. I thought it odd that they don't have your variety though, maybe just have not had one sent in to them yet. Ok, I have a better understanding of the numbers now but I think I remember someone posting that the numbering system in changing now, so probably all for not....  You had me on the turn, the river was just informative! Very nice varieties though, this one and the other. I was not aware of this particular one. I could see how the punch would be turned wrong though. I wonder if they have the punch marked in some way, like "this side up". -makecents-

I have often thought that myself. The punch is almost completely symmetrical. If it didn't have the little bridge, I don't know that it would be possible to spot.

A legal raise is nowhere near as fun as a Hollywood raise. Particularly if you slow roll after everyone is all-in.

Been playing 7stud, Holdem & Omaha since the early 90's. Agree, the Hollywood raise is much more dramatic but laugh everytime I see it on tv or when someone does it in a casino cash game.

Talking about the poker and slow playing reminded me of my worst and best hands. My worst, I had quad nines, nothing better on the board to beat the quads, at least in my mind. On the river, there were three diamonds on the board and one of those was an ace, worst case scenario, aces full or ace high diamond flush. I NEVER SAW THE BABY STRAIT FLUSH, I was blinded by the quads I had, all in on a cash table.... What is crazy, I do not remember my best hand as well as my worst but was very similar. I had a 2 through 6 straight flush against quad 4's, I don't think they saw it either. -makecents-

Honestly, unless the player with a straight flush made an obvious tell, you've got to play quads aggressively.

This can help when cherrypicking the 1942 s IMM. The slope and bump will be an easy spot when you build an eye for it.  |

@-makecents- Your scenario would be a legit Bad Beat & at the casinos you'd actually want to have your quad 9's lose to the straight flush, which does not happen too often. My local casino has a Bad Beat jackpot which accumulates for months & generally grows to the $10's of thousands of dollars. The loser would get 50% of the jackpot, the winner would get 25% & the remaining 25% would be distributed among the other players at the table (that were apart of the hand).

Yeah, not a casino. I'm familiar with bad beat winning, just never been fortunate enough to take part in one that paid. -makecents-
