It would be nice if users on this forum had proper input and knowledge of coins, rather than trying your best to annoy people, but I'm afraid that's all I see on this site, trolls being purposely annoying , spend your time doing something worthwhile rather than looking for targets to get at

Sorry you feel that way @User1975. After reviewing all of the comments, I believe everyone was trying to be helpful, and provided valid and informed opinions based on the images provided and years or decades of experience. I do not believe anyone was: Quote: trying your best to annoy people Additionally, when comments such as these are posted: Quote: I'm afraid that's all I see on this site, trolls being purposely annoying Quote: It would be nice if users on this forum had proper input and knowledge of coins Quote: spend your time doing something worthwhile rather than looking for targets to get at Folks will likely refrain from reading, replying, or commenting on those posts. In my experience on this forum, the responses one receives may not be what one wants to hear, as one may be excited to have found something odd or interesting and have formed an opinion of his or her own, however, folks provide honest, informed, experienced opinions and advice, as well as links to numismatic references for others to study and learn on their own... folks will also tell it like it is, and call it like they see it... we may not always get it right at first, but the majority of the time, the correct diagnosis/answer/conclusion is arrived at, provided the original poster makes a serious attempt and reviews and researches the information provided, follows the advice provided, and submits new images when and if requested. You may receive all responses in agreement with your own some of the time and some responses in agreement with your own all of the time, but you will not receive all responses in agreement with your own all of the time (I think Abraham Lincoln said that)... If you are looking for everyone to agree with all of your opinions all of the time, perhaps you should seek a different venue to share your finds and opinions and ask your questions (I said that). Best of luck to you on your numismatic journey. Cheers.

Igwt79, thank you so much for your help with this problem I face, it was TACC's comment..."Does ANACS still recognize glue as a "Mint Error"?", that got me frustrated. Also I've had a very negative experience with my posts with users being less than helpful!! I'll try to behave myself with future comments but it's hard when I feel attacked. Cheers Alun

Simple put, when a member does not agree with the majority of members comments they can always send the coin in question to a TPG like ANACS if they trust the results they will get from that slabbing company. It will cost them money and chances are you will get the same answer you got here on CCF for no charge.John1

The images are nice and clear. In your first image, there is a pretty strong shadow cast under Lincolns chin. This indicates that the material is above the field of the coin a significant amount. It shouldn't be raised if this material had been struck by dies. This is what Hondo Bogus was trying to point out when "extra" material is struck by dies. In a few places on your coin there are areas where a surface flaw from circulation (partial fingerprint in front of his nose for one) is visible in the field and under the anomaly. The material on your coin is most likely some sort of adhesive. We've all probably come across this before and had to do double takes and it can be frustrating. BTW- Thanks for looking through all the US coinage that escaped across the pond.

Well since my name was brought up, let's just deal with this. In following and responding to your posts over the last 6 months, I see a pattern with you USER1975. Some of your responses to members here on this forum, regarding answers & advice you've received at this forum, telling you that your coin(s) are not errors: "Wait till john1 sees this!!" "Absolute rubbish mate, can't you see the separation lines?!! #128557;" "This is the real deal believe!!" "-makecents, what do you mean it's not a DDO? OF COURSE IT IS,WHHO-001!" "Na, not having that!? It no Texas Cent it's to circular and you can barely tell the difference apart from..." "So much negativity, I don't think every coin is a DDO DDR or error or variety, is what it is though you guys have obviously made up your mind" "Just as I thought, people only reply to my posts when I make a mistake lol, jump all over it, because this coin actually has doubled columns you don't have anything to say, point proved." "oh and please don't say its PMD or a hit on the ear cos it's obviously not, regards, Alun" You have received post after post of useful, accurate answers and advice here. You seem to only want to hear from people that agree with you. If you post a legitimate coin error, you will and have already received accurate answers. The post I made regarding ANACS was just me reacting to all the responses you have posted previously. Seriously, people here respond to the COIN not the person. You seem to believe people on this forum are (and I quote) stupid, lack knowledge etc, etc. I could go on posting your previous responses/posts here to prove what YOU are really up to...

http://goccf.com/t/441049oops, looks like you posted this same coin in 2023 User1975 asking the same questions and getting the same answers. Very coincidental right?

Tacc, wow what can I say, you've really done your homework on me haven't you, without getting into an ongoing debate on posts and previous posts I'll let it slide, but don't think for a second I'm only looking for agreements with my posts just polite and sensible feedback, it's not glue like I've said and as for my comments let's talk about your comment about anacs? Was that professional,, NO! it was aimed at annoying me very childish IMHO. BYE BYE

Looks like adhesive as everyone else has suggested.. Have you tried poking at those pieces with a toothpick? they usually pop right off.

My experience with removing glue from a coin is it took about a week it so in acetone to remove it. It was a silver coin that was glued to some paper backing for whatever reason but it did take the acetone a good while to eat through all the glue.

If it is epoxy, acetone will not remove it. The only way to know for sure is to send it to a TPG and then post full coin slab photos front and back of slab. ANACS is the least expensive. I am going to lock this thread for now. John1
