Quote: Hope it's not a counterfeit coin and/or PCGS slab. There's a TrueView photo of the same coin, so it looks legit. Interesting error!

It's a pretty interesting error coin.
Errers and Varietys.

Very interesting, and appears to be quite legit.

Still, isn't it a bit pricey for an error? Your opinions, please. Thanks.

Almost the price of a new car. Think I'll pass.

At least it comes with Free Shipping. I agree price is high for the condition.

I understand it's in a holder, but it just doesn't look right. Why didn't they put the weight on it? At 2.7g you would think it wouldn't strike up as nice if it was struck with dies and a machine that was set up for 5 Gs. And even if it is legit, 47.000 is a lot high.

That price does seem steep, but error coin pricing is a world I'm unfamiliar with. Heritage recently had an error coin auction, and there was a 1945-S nickel I wanted. It was struck on a wrong planchet - a Netherlands East Indies coin planchet. Here's a link to that coin. Better grade, better eye appeaI...I would "guess" it would be rarer than being struck on steel cent planchet...but what do I know? It sold for $840. https://coins.ha.com/itm/errors/194...dLots-101116

Wrong planchet errors seem to be especially common in transitional years like 1943. Here's one in much better condition that sold 5 years ago for about $13,000. Most wrong planchet errors seem to go for less than $1000. So $47,500 seems pretty unrealistic. https://coins.ha.com/itm/errors/194...ption-071515
