May have been a low quality 'older' plating, having been partially worn away through circulation. Please post a photo of the obverse taken at a shallow angle--not vertical. May show more info. Thanks.

Is it a waste? I have never IRL seen a steel cent then my amazing boyfriend brings me a complete set of War pennies and nickles! I was and still am super excited about them all! So I'm sorry if any of you think my posts are a waste of time. I love this stuff and didn't even realize it until earlier this year!

It's been 2 and a half years since I started doing this, and I'm still learning, when I started I just was like you, very excited and posting all what I thought was an error or variety, and still I do, so please keep doing what you love, Some may be rude and others kind because that is their way of being but as jbuck said there are a lot of people here willing to help you, me included when I have the answer. You are learning like we all are. Thanks for posting, but please, please don't go on the offensive with name calling.
It might be understandable as a first reaction, but detracts from the overall thread and the learning.
Keep searching and posting and we will keep learning right along with you.
BTW- I hope you realize I'm not chastising you but helping everyone that reads this learn how to deal with interacting.
Words of encouragement are one of the major food groups.
We need to consume them regularly to thrive and grow.

That reply was uncalled for I admit. It was just last week that coinfrog said a different post was dumb and other ppl in the community came to my side and it was truly amazing. I will from here on out ignore him. Not worth the headache lol thank you all you're amazing!
