Thank you to all here on the coin commmunity. It has been a good year or two now being patient and listening to you alls expertise and guidance. To answer coin rejector, the coin has been sitting around behind me received from a friend, as Ive been intrigued to really find those magical missing link pennies out there like the 1944 Steel Penny. Coin roll hunting is fun/interesting, but frustrating at the same time. Once I found that 1983P Lincoln Penny DDO from coin roll hunting, the rest is history. Darn hook and sinker. But, the best is this community for responsiveness, knowledge and really never judging (just helping all).. Rock on!!!!

@eagle2a1.... Thanks for info. Your particular coin may not be as elusive as the '44 steel but IMO this particular FS 101 is not very common. Depending on what it grades, it could be worth some pretty good money. Definitely store it in a 2x2 & check this PCGS population/price guide out. https://www.pcgs.com/coinfacts/coin...fs-101/37818

Thanks on the nice flag from John for posting good/bad/indifferent.

Coin Rejector thanks for passing along the PCGS page. Is NGC okay for ever sending coins out? I created an account with them and still have it since I foolishly sent a bunch oh coins as newbie there. Lost alot of drinking money. Diet soda of course...hehe

@ eagle2a1.... IMO, NGC would be fine though others prefer PCGS. I'm curious as to what the community believes your coin could grade. According to the PCGS link, an MS60 is $300. To me, it looks like your coin could be in MS condition but I'm not great at grading Cents. You might try getting some opinions in the grading forum.

can I get some explanations for the doubling on one of my 1943 p steel pennies, please? if I am understanding the difference between double die and Machine Doubling, this is not any added value? I will add pictures of the whole coin later since I forgot to take any. thanks for looking.

Stufanone, I believe what you're seeing is Machine Doubling. The affected areas are reduced in size and is shelf like in appearance.
Errers and Varietys.

yeah, that's what I figured after I read some info on a couple other posts. I really thought I had found something special. pure excitement turn to total disappoinment as I was reading. problem is I still don't quite understand DDO since this isn't it. (can you tell I'm new to this?). thanks for the reply.
