1959 D Need Some Help With The Color On This!

It's a brown cent with violet colored toning. Not sure if the toning is natural.

Please include the coin denomination in your message title. The Denver mint struck cents, nickels, dimes, quarters and half dollars in 1959. You have us guessing which you refer to until we open the thread.

Agree about the "Brown" color designation with such toning on cents.
To me it also looks like artificial toning on this coin. But...

The grading companies have wisely decided on BN for coins that don't qualify for RD or RB. Otherwise, can you imagine PL for purple, or GR for green, or...?

Cool toning

Any coin that I find during my CRH with toning is a keeper for me, I love toning even if they are artificial toning
