Looks like misplaced metal, possibly from the 8, just damaged P mint coin.

Thanks for the quickest reply I've ever had. Now, if I could just get comments on my aviation forums this quick...
I didn't think I could get lucky with this one. Still, this has been a fun month learning a lot about coins. Thank you.

Quote: EnV didn't look close enough to the damage on the reverse..that's a copper plated zinc cent......spend it Spend it, regardless but there is nothing on the reverse that would make me think it's a zincoln. Absolutely no zinc rot showing and should with this kind of damage, just a tore up copper coin.

I'm thinking copper. It weighed in at 3.07g. I do a lot of reloading ammo, it's a really good scale. On the other hand, my camera/microscope/viewer is mediocre at best. Would you have any recommendations?

More coin folders came today, I'll start with the Wheaties tonight. I figure I'll learn a lot from this forum.
