Your F15 estimate is 5 points high. It's a $35 coin at retail.

Offer was accepted. Let's see what the coin looks like in-hand. I will make new photographs as well.

The PCGS price guide generally refers to PCGS-graded coins, although it's doubtful there are many 1896-O Morgans in this grade that have been graded by PCGS. This one is much more attractive than your average VG/F coin, so I wouldn't worry about being a little on the high side here.

Really sweet circulation cameo! I approve. I'd buy it around $35-$40 if I needed one, but if I buy more Morgan dollars my shelves are going to groan in protest.

The reverse is stronger but I think this will top out at VG-10.

Completed auction listings are so easy to access via the Internet they almost make price guides obsolete. And yes, PCGS price guides are for PCGS graded, problem-free coins. And even then they're usually high. P.S. $43 delivered isn't too bad these days for a coin such as this one.

PCGS Price Guide values tend to be the very upper reaches of full retail for problem-free coins in PCGS holders.

paralyse however I understand that numismedia is pretty current and they look at current sales to determine prices so they are pretty close for raw coin retail pricing. at least it gets you close to the actual value

I think I have to reduce my grade to VG10. That said, I really like the circulation cameo of this coin.

Definitely more wear on the obverse, but very attractive circ cameo.
