Quote: I buy them at melt value all the time. Quote: I have a dealer that buys 5% to 10% under melt and sells them to me for melt.
Right - and once again I will ask: Show your source - I'd like to participate.

I buy from Trademark Coins & Currency because I trust them. The $60 over will be worth your while.
The point is common date raw $20 Double Eagles, particularly problem pieces, have zero numismatic value.

Make a melt value offer for any of these and many more in the listing. He's asking $65 over melt and I'm certain you'll come to an agreement a few bucks over melt. I've been buying and selling pre-33 gold for 20 years. Premiums on generic G$20 have been nil with gold at the prices it's been. Go shopping.

Same seller is asking 1% over melt for these ($2565). Offer melt ($2540) and I'm sure he'll take it.

The original pictured 1924 coin has all the needed detail for an Unc coin but the hits and tics are far and away too much for me to call it a 63 or 64. If I were in the grading room I'd be more inclined to give it a "60" on Monday or a "61" on Friday.
No shortage of these and only worth a few dollars over melt no matter what it grades.

Take the selling fees out and magic .seller gets spot or darn Near close with a huge amount of risk involved. The three I bought from a Pacific NW dealer friend . As stated no premiums if you shop smart . Gold is way way too high for any kind of premiums Unless super high grade or Rarities .

Quote: On ebay I see zero graded MS-64 Saint Gaudens Double Eagles going for spot. ebay is full retail. There are decent deals to be had on ebay. But top tier certified MS64 Saints at melt is a very good deal and you have go direct to the seller to find something like that. Raw, generic G$20 pieces have been trading at melt for years with Choice Mint State pieces trading just above melt.

Seems like the price of a graded $20 Liberty Head in MS-64 condition is about 10% above spot. This is according to a well-known bullion price comparison website. This typically includes free shipping. Of course, local shops may do much better on price, but then people conveniently forget to say they spend $100 to just drive there, spend $10 on parking, and had lunch for $20.

10% is still around $260. So in reality it is NOT melt - Right?
