Not worth the cost of having this graded. a fairly common clash.

Quote: What type of clash are not common or worth sending? IMO your cent is "lightly" clashed...whereas some cents have a very strong (harder) clashed, like a prison cent. Also older classic series coins pull a higher premium.

This is a nice unabraded clash. No die polishing to obscure any clashing. The clash from the back of the neck in bay 3&4 is pretty strong but I'm not seeing any corresponding clash on the obverse, so the obverse die must have been changed out. Any chance you can get a closeup of the statue on the reverse and the left side of column #3. While I don't think I have a 1989 clashed cent I have many clashes. Here's a link to Maddieclashes.com if you're not familiar with it. Lots of info and they describe the differences between "Typical" and "Atypical" clashes. Happy Hunting. https://www.maddieclashes.com/typic...-small-cent/FYI- "Counter-clashes" are rare and valuable clashes. Check out the ones for 1983 https://www.maddieclashes.com/type-i-counterclash/Or ... the "Mule" Die clashes (in the Flying Eagle series, the 1864 2 cent, and the 1999 Lincoln Cent) https://www.maddieclashes.com/mule-die-clashes/
Words of encouragement are one of the major food groups. We need to consume them regularly to thrive and grow.

If I had to do a full circle close up of this coin reverse you will see More clashes on top of the letters and doubling. Looks like the reverse got hit the most. Let me see if I can do nice close up photos.

@Petespockets55 thank you for providing these links. I saw 1989 Lincoln Cent clashes similar to my coin.

It looks like some columns and other areas are also being clashed?
