No. I am just buying the clad proof set, possibly the silver one and mint sets. I am only buying the clad proof set as the mintage and product number are equal putting into question if other proof set prodcuts of circulating and NIFC coinage will have the same coins (e.g. will the proof penny NOT appear in anything else but the clad proof set? Not clear right now and not a strong likelihood but it is odd the mintage and product limits are the same = about 400,000).

To be clear, uncirculated mint set coins are not the same as the ones struck for circulation. They are minted separately at slower speeds with higher strike pressure. If they stopped minting pennies for circulation, the ones for the annual sets would/could/should still be minted as per usual.

Call it "penny" or "cent", who cares? "penny" has a much better "ring" to it than "cent". Did they stop making "pennies" yet?

I picked up a penny box at my coin to coin to hunt and the hunt ended quickly as it was 2025 rolls.

I hope for the collector community that penny's remain being minted for collectors in sets ect after they stop being minted for circulation. Up here in Canada our mints did a full stop - when they could have continued making them for sets - which in my opinion would have added more value/uniqueness to the sets.

Quote:What I find Most remarkable is Here at the Coin Community Forum Most Here except a Very Small few members use the proper nomenclature in Numismatics, When discussing the Cent. Why, ? America has Never minted a Penny, America is thinking about eliminating the Lincoln Cent. Why do the large majority of coin collectors use the term "penny" even though it's historically inaccurate? I think it's because it's more fun to say than "cent." And who has ever heard of "cent candy"?

when I hold, see, or talk about about a single Lincoln coin - I call it a penny (look I found a 'penny') But when I'm referring to multiple Lincoln coins, I say 'Cents' If I had 60 of such coins - I say I that I have 6 'cents'

Quote: at my coin to coin to hunt and the hunt ended quickly Say what now? If you are trying to say you went to the bank and got a solid box of uncirculated 2025 cents then I would definitely hold onto them. I think I have a box of 2016 laying around from the last time that happened to me. The other times that I got them I used the box as payment to the local dealer at our coin club who sold members bullion silver eagles for $2 or $3 over spot.

I asked Google "has the mint stopped making pennies"
Here are the answers: AI Overview "No, the U.S. Mint is not currently stopped making pennies. While President Trump has instructed the Treasury to halt production, and Congress has considered bills to discontinue the penny, the U.S. Mint continues to produce them." AI Overview "No, they are not still making pennies in 2025. President Trump announced in February 2025 that he had ordered the Treasury Department to halt production of the penny, citing the high cost of production exceeding the coin's value. "
