Amazing! As someone who has also started the Lincoln Cent dansco set recently, I envy you. Very nice coins, and you appear to have the 1909 S VDB, which I will never be able to obtain

Quote: appear to have the 1909 S VDB, which I will never be able to obtain Never say never.. I started my Lincoln set in Whitman folders back in 1971 or 2, 50 years later I just finally bought my first 1909-S VDB and just 2 years ago transferred them to a Dansco album.

@humanist it's not an S VSB lol. I couldn't look at the blank hole anymore. It's just a Fine-ish 09 S keeping the spot warm. lol
Side note how do I quote or reply to a post?

Nice album!
Quote blocks can be produced with the following tags surrounded by brackets:
q /q
You can also create a quote block by using the icon with the white paper page and the red arrow under Format.

So do you consider a 1922 Plain to not be a part of the collection? Or have you just not purchased one yet?

I've been meaning to ask, have you bought the majority of your coins? Or do you go through bank rolls, or both?

Quote: I've been meaning to ask, have you bought the majority of your coins? Or do you go through bank rolls, or both? I began in like 2000 (25 years ago) with a somewhat poor quality (good to fine at best) album that my dad gave me which was roughly 1909-1959 and was missing all the key dates and a few others. I then started purchasing similar quality key dates and semi keys in slightly better quality. I'd also search rolls for the modern ones and/or just purchase at coin shops / shows etc. Over the years I've invested more into better quality upgrades, and every Feb/March/April I have a tradition of ordering off ebay a few proofs and some P&D rolls of the current year to find the current cent that I like the best to fill the hole. Now my main focus is upgrading everything pre 1934 to AU+ which obviously gets more expensive and more difficult. I have a preference for raw coins, because I love the ability to flip the pages of the history of the Lincoln Cent, and I love the way they look together with the slight nuances of color and tone. That said, higher quality, aesthetically beautiful, problem free raw coins are in my opinion more difficult to find than some of the higher grade low population slabs! So it's a never ending search lol.. all that to say, yes I've searched rolls, yes I've bought many raw, and yes I've even cracked open quite a few slabs just to find the perfect penny lol.

But it would kill me to have a good at best quality cent amidst the beautiful coppers and toned cents. and to get it in matching quality, I'd rather give that arm and leg to adding a better quality S VDB which is my only other blank.
