Best of luck with your return! I know the struggle. Over the course of two months, I had to return the 2025 Proof Set three times for QC issues. The fourth set they sent me was good. Had it been bad, I would've given up and gotten a refund. The whole situation was ridiculous, almost a running gag by the third return cycle. The nationwide slowdown in postal service didn't help, either, because the return shipments took up to 2 weeks. All's well that ends well, I suppose. I will add I'm happy with the final proof set, though. Makes me wish I didn't stop buying them with the 2012 issue. Quote: I'm beginning to question by decision to even get back into collecting coins. I like to have complete sets or at least work towards completing a set. But as I look at the prices of proof sets especially the silver ones I start to wonder if it's even worth the money it will take. I wonder if I'm better off just buying 90% constitutional silver coins and bullion and not even both with completing modern sets that will probably just be worth face value. Despite my story, I would still encourage you to stick it out if you enjoy collecting modern coins. Numismatics is all about collecting what makes you happy! If you find that modern coins don't bring you joy, that's okay! There are so many options for your collection. Just don't give up on our wonderful hobby.

Like JBuck, extremely fortunate to have not received any issues directly purchased. Several a year for over fifteen. For myself, my issue with the mint is price increase, where for the first time in many years I won't be buying the silver proof set. Eventually they will be found for less in the secondary. I can wait. Point is, for what they charge a higher standard is expected without question. Obviously, and regrettably, they missed the mark in your case.

So apparently the US Mint just refunded my money less the shipping costs instead of sending replacements. So now I'll have to order them again and pay an additional shipping charge. I put on the slip to send replacements but they didn't do that. I initiated the return online to get the shipping label and filled out the return slip but apparently that wasn't enough. Has anyone had the same issue or did I do something wrong. Did you have to pay shipping again?

Bummer. I have never hat to return anything, so I cannot answer the question.

I would call customer service ASAP. They are usually very helpful. I used the online return feature to get free shipping labels and never had any issues with getting replacements. That is frustrating, though. Keep us posted, and best of luck!

Called the Mint but since they already processed the refund they couldn't resend them. So I had to place another order. I asked if they could refund my shipping and they put in a request. Not sure if I will get it but either way I placed another order. We shall see, wish me luck :)

Best of luck! Make sure they refund your shipping and call them back if they don't. It's worth being persistent, but they're usually helpful.

Received my order again. Two sets were ok but the 2022 American Innovation had hazing and the 2023 AI Proof and 2023 AI Reverse Proof sets had toning. It's the same kind of toning, so I'm thinking their robotic picker contaminates them somehow. Very discouraging. I'm tempted to just find them on ebay..ugh.

That is disappointing. Unfortunately, though, I've encountered the same quality issues when buying off ebay. Sellers rarely disclose hazing or toning, and the return process is equally annoying. So if I were you, I would return the defective sets for replacement by the Mint rather than rolling the dice with ebay. Or try to find sets from your LCS that you can cherrypick in person.

Before I sent the 2nd order back, I called and asked them that I wanted replacements instead of just a refund so I wouldn't have to mess with trying to get the shipping refunded again. She said that I just need to mark that on the return sheet. I told her I did that the first time, she said they probably didn't have them in stock to resend. I find that hard to believe out of 5 proof sets, they didn't have any. I just got their conformation email saying they are processing my refund to my credit card. I think I'm just going to try and find them at my LCS instead of trying to order from the Mint again.

Received a survey request for my Mint purchase today. I didn't hold back in my opinion. Doubt it will do any good, but at least I voiced my opinions.

I used to do them every time, but I have not done the last couple.
