So took a little more time to look at the stash. There's 4 total and look at the progression of the mark. Amazing. The reverse looks normal. At least for me. No weird markings or blemishes

The reverse should look normal as a struck through will not affect the reverse.
Nice progression photos. With each strike there gets to be less grease on the die until it disappears.

Very cool finds! It's always fun to find coins from the same die that you can see the progression of strikes.

to the CCF.

I agree with those above. It appears to be a Struck Through Grease example, and it's pretty cool you were able to document the progression/regression of the grease.

Was curious to see the reverse--might eliminate some possibilities. My thinking is, if I was at a coin show and someone walked up to me with this piece and asked me to look at it, within the first 4 or 5 seconds I would turn it over to check the reverse--just a reflex reaction to establish the best context possible. Heck, I'd likely flip it back and forth a few more times. It's what we do.

So I sent these 4 coins to PCGS and they are indeed struck through errors with grades of MS 63 - MS 65. Now the question is how. the worth of 4 coins having a progression of a struck through errors. Guidance would be appreciated. Coins are on the their way home.
