BACK!!

You posted 2 nice images (the 2 large sideways closeups) of the top and bottom of the nickel, Can you also post a nice closeup like the first 2 and show the Monticello Building? I would like to see if that crack on top and bottom continue through the middle

Cannot tell from the pics if it is rim to rim but that would be cool if it were. Nickels obviously had an issue with this though, none listed for 43S at this point. Nice clear pics as asked for would be great.

Aww shucks, thanks guys (and gals) thanks y'all LOLi will try to recreate pictures like I did, but with what you asked for, but daylight and my window sill were to thank for that! OMG yeah I have my own apartment now! Can you tell I've had this coin on my brain for a minute? Lol Yeesh! Haven't been able to get coin rolls and I'm not going to lie. It has sucked. Big time LOL
Get those pics to you ASAP I promise because I GOTSTA know now.
You guys are amazing. Thank you.

PS: It did look to me that there was definitely a disturbance in the Monticello near the dome. Hopefully I can get a good picture #129310;

Vertical rim-to-rim cracks seem to happen fairly often on War Nickels. No idea why, I assume that the silver alloy would be softer than standard CuNi planchets. Anyway, the crack often runs through one of the ridges on the dome, then along a pillar, along one side of the steps (occasionally through the steps), and out into the field. I can see it on the dome of your coin, but I can't make out if it runs along a column and down.

Doesn't look like a rim to rim die crack.
The top crack seems to stop at the dome and the bottom
crack would have to come through the steps between the I and C
then veer right to join with the one at the top.
I don't see that on your nickel, I only see two individual cracks.

It's the Jefferson nickel designs in general, before and after the war nicks too. As far as designs, they are the most listed on COC that I posted. I would say it has more to do with the design than the war nick composition.

You can clearly see in your last photo that the two
cracks do not line up so it is not a rim to rim crack.

That's a complete bummer lol so it had 2 die cracks and a die chip..... I'm also assuming it's not worth more than it's silver content?
And what's with the chunk missing from between the dome and left side of die chip?
