I must admit that I rarely get to grade this particular series. As usual, Fort Collins gives a thorough explanation of his assessment and I do value his opinion. For what it is worth, I see this coin as XF-40.

I see no traces of luster in the photos. Doing a comparison with PCGS Photograde for reference, I still see this as a VF coin. 0% chance it grades AU.

On it's worst day it's an XF coin, that's just my opinion though. It's unfortunate when you're completely reliant on photograde.

This coin is in nice shape. I agree it is an XF coin. I have one in high VF shape and I enjoy showing it to non coin people and watch their reaction to the fact that the US mint made 20 cent coins.

That scratch on the reverse is a bummer. Not sure if it would details the coin or not, depends on how it looks in hand. As suspected, I am not seeing any luster in the much better new pictures. Sticking with VF-30.

Comparing your pics to PCGS Photograde, I had to re-evaluate this one and I concur with VF-35. Not much difference in value between VF to XF. I think you did just fine for $180.

I'm in the upper VF camp. I think it straight grades regardless of the scratch on the reverse .
