thank you for answers, you guys are the best. I get that the photos are tough to work with and that assessment is hard base on that Quote: If you examine this coin, look carefully at the mint mark. Altered (added) mint marks exist for this date. I don't think that's the case here, but the photo just isn't quite clear enough to see the area around the mint mark. will likely check it out inhand and take more pics if so, hopefully it has luster left. the D is near in mintage with the 1919S I have. I didnt even notice diecrack on the rev but see it now, thru OF and CA. yes the spot on the wing concerns me to.

i'd net this one to AU50 as well. FC has eagle eyes, I'm not seeing any signs the coin was cleaned. if it was I think it was so long ago and that it would pass. like FC stated Quote: The photos aren't sharp enough to tell that part. . one area that has me more concerned, that wasnt commented on, is in the crease right under the shield drape running down the thight. take a close look at that, it could be the start of some corrosion FC commented about the MM could possibly be an issue. I looked at multiple 19D's and the MM on all of the ones I saw were all level. the MM on this coin is ever so slightly tilted up. this is a concern that really needs checked out that to determine if this is valid for the orientation of the MM for this year.

The reverse die crack is a solid match, and that should eliminate concerns about it being a 1919-D. Also, the altered mint mark coins I've seen for 1919 are fairly crudely done, with visible tool marks around the added mint mark.
Again, this looks like a nice coin. It will be good to see your photos when it comes in. This may end up better than AU-50, but that's as far as I could go with the seller's photos. The seller didn't do himself/herself any favors with those photos.

If it checks out I have a limit on 600S. There is very little info online on the slq dievariations. It looks like doubling on both examples on the wings arm Thank you FC

The in-hand photos are excellent. The die clash polishing is evident on the shield and across the obverse. There are clash marks visible on the obverse and reverse, so it seems likely there was additional die clashing between the polishing and this coin's strike.The strike weakness at the top of the obverse and bottom of the reverse is typical of coins struck on Ferracute knuckle presses, because of the rocking action of the hammer die. Denver had those presses for many years. Because the planchets in that day had to be hand-fed into tubes and the work was fast and tedious, die clashing was common. To my eyes, it looks like the coin has been wiped. It looks market acceptable, but it's impossible to predict how a TPG would see it on the day it was graded. It looks as though there is some modest surface damage. On the obverse, there is a rim ding below the first "9" in the date. There also may be a contact mark or scratch across Liberty's knees, diagonally from SW to NE. There appears to be some metal movement from this contact. There may be another contact mark on the inner side of Liberty's right leg (our visual left). There are surface scratches near the "TY" of LIBERTY. The reverse is better, with a light contact mark between the "S" of PLURIBUS and the eagle's left wing (our visual right). and another light scratch NW-SE on the eagle's right wing (our visual left). There is some circulation wear evident on obverse at the gown and legs and on the reverse on the eagle's breast, wing tips, and higher points of the outer wings. I still can't get a good feel for the dark spots. The spot on the eagle's right wing (our visual left) may have been where some gunk was removed. Or it may just be an area of toning. The luster looks original. Overall, it's a nice coin. It certainly looks better than the seller's photos. Balancing all things, I now see this one as AU-53. Again, nice coin.
