To the State Quarter Collector, this IMQ, is a very fair asking price, in time this "collection" should be worth more. On the other hand, Like "Eagleye", LOL, has stated, from the "speculator's" prospective, the trip to the bank will yield $200.00 profit at face value. I too have the same collection, all states( not all mints)in the Stringer wrapped rolls and would like to believe this collection should be worth more as time goes by. Also I believe that some rolls from the first 2-years are asking/getting much more than the price per roll as stated, Pennsylvania/Delaware-D alone in MS65 lists(NNCM-Price Guide) for $20.00 per coin!!!....

Well.....it is obvious that the seller intends only "one" Mint and only 50 rolls...(I was being just a bit sarcastic with the "both Mints" thing...sorry)....and so it is $300.00 OVER face value, which I wouldn't pay at this point for Stringer rolls.... $800.00 for $500.00 worth of Stringer rolls which everybody got for "face value" from their bank when they came out. And the fact that I can still get these for "face value" at auction and such.....tells me that it's too high "for me". Maybe in the year 2118 or beyond I'd pay that........but not 6 months after the State Qtr. Program has ended. Then again.......selling them while they're "hot" could be the idea here...(I just don't want to "buy" them while they're hot & pricey ! ) (I would want to buy them " before" they're hot, or " after" they've cooled down...but to each his own. My motto.......before or after the "frenzy".....but not DURING !.....

It is like any other market advice. When the masses are screaming that the sky is falling, you buy. When the masses are cheering because their values can only go up, you bail.

A "deal"? No A fair price? Maybe. Yes some of the rolls do sell for more, but many of the states can be had for just a couple dollars over face. Then you also have the problem that you are buying a pig in a poke. You have no way to guarantee that the rolls you receive are solid unc rolls of that particular State Quarter.

For that much money I'd rather have a nice key date coin. It will go up in value faster too.

I would like to add to my previous post: I do believe that for the Collector, getting this set in a one stop does all deal also would have it's value, compared to searching for "EVERY" roll and the shipping costs, dealing with ALL the seller's to gather the rolls and hope they are what they are suppose to be. Also IMHO I do not think you can find this "set" of unopened UNC rolls just anywhere, for the price. I would ask if there is some sort of return policy, in case things are not as described......

Problem is, how would you know whether or not you got what you paid for unless you open the rolls? The whole point of this set is that it is an unopened roll set. And if you open the roll(s) then you can't return them in the same condition they were received in.

I need some expert advise... I just saw this listing on Craigs List for what appears to be a high grade AU/MS 1914 D Lincoln. There were a couple of low quality pictures attached. If I go to look at it, how can I tell if this is a fake or the real thing? Is there something I should be looking for on this date in particular that will tell me for sure if it is authentic? I would attach the pictures but haven't figured out how to do that yet.

An AU/MS 1914D is worth about $1500-2000 and frequently counterfeited. DO NOT purchase a raw coin like that from Joe Schmoe on Craigslist. There are a few diagnostics to look for(no VDB on shoulder, interior of D mint mark almost comes to a point vs a more oval shape from later dates) but unless you are quite skilled and have examined many 1914Ds, it is best to purchase certified.

Thanks for the info and advice...you were right...It did turn out to be a fake... I asked the guy to send me clearer pictures and the spacing between the 9 and the second 1 is significantly greater than the spacing between the first 1 and the 9. Probably an altered 1944 D. Thanks again

Well I have been saving roll since 2001 have numerous rolls of all the State Quarters 1999 and up all of them P&D rolls. I have 4 or 5 thousand in rolls. I was thinking of cashing these in and buying silver but guess I will keep them for awhile yet anyway. What do you all think cash these in and buy more silver or keep them?
