Wow . Those are really, really nice. They still look crisp. You have no idea how jealous I am right now....

As far as value you can go on ebay to get an idea. I saw a fifth issue 25c on there in about the same comdition as the one you posted going for 49.99. Also there is a graded PMG 25 Three Cent piece going for 70 dollars. So who knows. However if you get them graded you can command more for an asking price.

They are a little darker in person (without the flash), but most of them are very crisp which surprised me. I mean, these are over 150 years old!

Can you please let me know where I should start when looking into getting these graded?

Thanks!

I would not store the index cards with the notes in direct contact with each other. Some paper can be harmful.
The Grading looks conservative enough to me. Those are some super nice fractionals. Bully for you!
To get a value idea, you can always search completed auctions on ebay.

I've never dealt with a third party grading company but I've heard PCGS is pretty good. For more info there is a third party grading forum here and I'm sure the people there could help you much better. http://www.coincommunity.com/forum/...?FORUM_ID=84

I will list values from the May 2009 Greensheet, the cousin on the CDN Greysheet. Could you also post pictures of the other notes? There are a few differences that can alter the value.

3rd issue 3 cents XF dark portrait $58 (AU $75, CU60 $105)
4th issue 50 cents XF Dexter $38 (AU $52, CU60 $88)
5th issue 25 cents XF $25 (AU $33, CU60 $44)

Thanks everyone. I have found a few of these that have sold on ebay, but you never know what you can get there. Here's a pic of a few more.

More Greensheet pricing-

4th issue 10 cents CU CU60 $38 CU63 $63
4th issue 15 cents VF $57 (XF $82)
5th issue 10 cents CU red seal CU60 $36 CU63 $52

From what I have seen so far, the notes are graded accurately(provided there are no small tears or pinholes that I cannot see) and might even be graded a bit conservatively.

Thanks again. What kind of holder would be the best way to store these and where can I order some?

They are held on with a dab of superglue....not!

They're just sitting on the cards, not attached.

Thanks!

I'm not sure if my Dad wants to sell them. He is more into silver, thats why I'm gathering this info for him. A few of these are so nice I want to buy them from him! I think getting the clean ones graded is a good idea...
