I would need more choices .. but I did vote. (coin shops)
I would say I buy most of my coins thru local coin shops. Although lately I have been buying quite a few on E bay. Also this past year I have been selling off collections for friends and family. Those collections I get to buy what ever I want, at what ever the dealer I go to quotes he will buy at.

Well, since I amassed most of my collection years ago (I've just recently gotten back into collecting) from my local coin club (they had a monthly members auction), I'd have to say none of the above on your poll choices!

For me it would be a combination of local dealers, shows and ebay (and, as was mentioned, coin clubs in the past).

Oops, forgot here at the CCF too!

I chose ebay, but that is really my second or third choice.

Hmmm....where you put trading and buying thru our forums?

I forgot to add the CCF! Definitely here as well
As much as I am critical of ebay, I do purchase a fair amount from there as well as long as the seller has 100% PFB and a fair return privilege. If not, I pass.

Most of my coins I buy from B&M dealer shops or at the local coin show; I think the coin shows actually account for the largest number of coins added to the collection over the past few years, so that's how I voted.

I voted for Online Dealers. I also go to coin ships, but most of my purchases have come from dealers or the US Mint online.

I voted for shows but in reality most are from flea markets, garage/yard/estate sales. None are shown here. Also, many purchase coins via forums like this. Again, not covered.
Of course there are also friends, neighbors, relatives and even change.

My vote was "shows"......but I'm more like Carl in my purchasing.
I've never bought a coin or anything else from ebay in my life....nor do I want to.
I've never sold a coin in my life......nor do I want to.
But, yeah.......I like "estate auctions/sales"....."coin auctions".....coin shows........flea markets....and even a couple of times at antique stores while travelling abroad .....more fun than anything else....some of these have EXTENSIVE collections of all types for sale.....prices ?......well......ya gotta watch that of course !.....quality of coins ? .....well.....that depends on the quality of the store usually ! ....
But I'd have to say that estate auctions and coin auctions have been my most frequent purchasing expeditions.

I get most of mine from my local shop and the really nice stuff usually comes from shows along with a smattering of internet purchases. However, I am not paying full retail at the shop- the bulk of my purchases come from the weekly bid board(also the source of most of my sales material)

Banks have been a good one for me, followed by coin shops and ebay.

coming this spring when the earth thaws out, hopefully free coins.

I purchase most of my coins from ebay but next Wednesday I'm going to the city to visit a couple of coin dealers and acquire some coins before school holidays end.
