To much wear for AU grade. I would have to go with EF-40, high end.

Bryan,

Its the old small sized slabs Anacs used to use. I will post a pic of the slabbed grade either tomorrow or sometime this weekend.

Wow, wide range of opinions on this. I'm gonna say EF45, but an AU grade wouldn't knock me out of my chair.

I think it is an EF-45 technically, but it has the eye appeal of an AU coin, and I wouldn't be surprised if it brought full AU money. That is a coin I would be very proud to own, espcially the beautiful crusty toning! Nice purchase!

Beautiful And Crusty? Rarely do I hear those two words together. Only on a coin!

Ok I thought I had taken a picture of the slab with the grade but I didnt and I have put up the coin so no pic of the slab grade. However it is graded XF45.

Cownas you were the first one to get the grade right so

Jaobler it has definitely has the luster present to qualify for AU50-AU53 but I guess the wear on the shield, leg, eagle ect was to much for them to give the AU designation.

Thanks all for responding.

Here is my 1917-S Type 1 SLQ that is in my 7070. I love rim toned coins. This one was an ANACS XF40. I think I am going to crack the 1919 and put it next to this one.
