Hi Madhandles The cent looks like a filled die ,, The Close AM makes it a 1993 or newer cent. Rick

I suppose its possible, but I would have to have it in hand to attribute it to any known dies for the 92-D Close AM. Rick

The coin isn't a 1992, the obverse isn't the correct type. The obverse type suggests 1993-1999. The obverse for 1992 is a one-year type (thick letters), and it was changed again in 2000 (slug lips and level top to the Y of LIBERTY). The differences are extremely subtle, but noticeable to someone like me who goes through thousands per month.

The coin is timeless. LOL. The die must of filled and the fading of a few letters make this a great find.

WOW that is sooo cool... I would suggest sending it to PCGS or something, that way you could possibly find out its true origins. So... how did you find it again? I would buy but its probably not for sale.
Andrew
P.S. How many posts do you have to have to be able to send an email to someone?

At a bank near my house, I went with $100 and asked for pennies . They kind of chuckled, but came back with two $50 bags of pennies! I haven't seen bags like these before - they were plastic with handles on each side to be able to carry them. You could probably buy them at your bank, but if not, there will always be rolles and $25 boxes.

Oh you need 50 posts in order to post in the buy/sell/trade section, but you can email someone about a coin or whatever with no posts.
