It only seems so, hhbkiddo! The same coin was issued for Denmark in 1807, struck by the Altona Mint. On this coin however, the crossed hammers are displayed, the mint mark of Kongsberg. Kongsberg coins were issued for Norway.
Frederik VI was king of both Denmark and Norway until 1814. In 1814 he stayed king of Denmark, but was succeeded by the king of Sweden in Norway.

I'm thinking the whole lot could keep you in beer for awhile just from what I see. I don't know a bunch about darkside coins but they look like rarer ones to me.

Why don't you just put a lot or two on here for auction. At least the fellows here are honest.Maybe not all are wealthy but I don't think you would get taken advantage of.

I am afraid most of the coins have little value, as they are very, very worn. Their value lies in the history they tell, the countries they come from (which, in the case of the German States, don't exist anymore).
Of the 4 coins shown in this thread, the last one (Norway 4 skilling) has the highest catalog value in Krause: 6 $ in VG. The more worn coins are in a condition I find in junk boxes here in Belgium at 1 to 3 euro a piece. That price is set just because they're old.

as you say not much value, but historically there worth alot.. Although they are not from a long lost Pirate treasure , someone figured they were worth enough to bury in a box....At least I can tell my Grandson ,I found a treasure box..hahahha
