The 2000 set comprises of 1 10 ruble and 7 2 rubles, which commemorates the following cities: Leningrad, Stalingrad, Moscow, Novorossiysk, Tula, Smolensk, and Murmansk.

For the ones that can't understand the letters on the coins (the majority I assume): in Frank's first post here, the second coin says 12 April year 1961 also has the signature of Yuriy Gagarin, third one says State Bank (I'm not 100% sure about the first word though) , fourth one with a soldier says 55th anniversary of Great Victory (meaning the end of W-W-2) the first one in Frank's second post is TULA, second one SMOLENSK, third one is Gagarin in military uniform (same signature as above) and the last one says LENINGRAD

They seem to like military subjects for there coins.
Do they have any other subjects for other coins or are they all military in nature!

Most of my other Russian coins are hammer and sickle, I think these are all military because they commemorate WWII.

They do have some coins commemorating musicians, writers, cities, olympics etc, but they have a great number of coins with military theme, USSR used the World War II victory theme at every possible chance

RenaL, I believe I sent you an email about the Russian counterfeiting Turkish Paras, as well as making coins out from captured Turkish cannons. This is one example:

I afraid not. I wiped out most of the Russian coins in the dealers' inventories here and have been buying a fair bit over the net.

Today I got myself some of these Tsar-era Russian coins. 1912,1914 and 1915 1 Kopeika (just like the one up there) 1899, 1911 and 1915 2 Kopeiki (same serie, a little bigger than 1 K) 1915 3 Kopeiki
The coins are amazingly beautiful for their age. Every detail of the two headed eagle on the back is still visible. Wish I had the equipment to take some photos.
