It was the auction at his coin club. He actually bid $5, but the auctioneer/president/good guy coin dealer threw two "club dollars" his way, and he got the lot for $3. He sold $7 worth of stuff in the auction, so he left with more money than he started with, along with the '22-D and all the rest.

The coins are all pretty much good or VG--but to pick up a '22-D and fill all those holes for $3 is wild.

Sounds like you're raising quite the young business man! Filling some holes AND leaving with a profit!

Turns out we stuck one in the wrong hole; now he needs 23 more Lincolns. Still not complaining.

So we went to Coinman1014's club again tonight. He put the Lincoln folder, along with the 10 coins that were still in it, up for bids. He got $2.

So he ended up paying $1 for a 1922-D Lincoln Cent, a State Quarters map folder, and 14 other Lincoln cents (as well as several other cents for his brother and for me).

Most of the coins he used to fill the holes were probably worth $3 each

i think all of us would.. and someone who wouldn't- shouldn't be.. ummm
i'll stop there

i'll just say all kids should be encouraged to find something they enjoy doing- and if they can share that with one or both parents, it's even better

i have seen some of coinman's posts , he REALLY seems to enjoy this hobby

my hat's off to AndrewC for his guidance, perseverance, and ability to share something with his sons
