When you get out of the car at the shopping center, you scan the ground for dropped coinage. Last week there were no coins, but the fiver I found helped pay for my fresh fish purchase.

When you drive all the way to the general convenience store, purchase a candy bar, and demand to have your change in Kennedy halves.

You pump something-oh-one and refuse the take-a-penny at the gas station so that you get 99 cents back instead of a dollar.

When the tellers get concerned because you walk into the bank with a canvas coin bag, and then you ask them for all their half dollars.

I've reached the highest point in my obsession. I found this top ten list of coin protection products... and I've bought them all! Is none of these really worth it? (Offsite URL shortening not allowed) /ass1rr

"When you have more dreams about coins than about your girlfriend."

It's sad. My first thought was "Wow! Your girlfriend dreams about coins too? That would solve so many problems."

Before I fall asleep, I pick a coin, and imagine myself back in that time period. I know it sounds wierd, but I usually fall asleep pretty fast. I guess thats pretty obsessed :-)

You forgot; "You read the cashier the riot act for not wearing gloves to dispense change". Did that at an I-70 gas station outside of Columbia, MO when I stopped for gas and the cashier cracked open a roll of silver dimes. She tought I was nuts but allowed me to buy every silver dime.

Definitely done the dreaming thing...glad I'm not alone! I deliberately keep myself from roll hunting at times just to keep it at a non-idolatry level (always worry about that. being a Christian, no offense to anyone else).

How about:

You can't spot a Lincoln, Mercury, or Eagle vehicle on the road without daydreaming about coins.

You find yourself carrying a favorite type of coin around just to have your "fix" on demand.

Your first thought shopping for ice cream is "I wonder what grade is on that Mint Chocolate Chip?"

Upon seeing the railroad tracks at the local subway station, you seriously consider asking if you can "get down there and look around".

You envy the guy that gets to clean out park fountains.
