Although the coin is flawless, the splotchy-ness of the toning doesn't do it for me...

I was actually going to mention that if your someone who doesn't like fairly uneven darker toning, this may not do it for you.
Incredible grade.

Nice high grade. I think it would be even more awesome if it were a blast white example. The strike is pretty awesome.

For a 68*, I would expect more even toning. I agree with a previous poster that that toning is not so attractive to make the coin worth as much as it has been offered for.

There seems to be a bunch of scratches on the face.

Hmmm, good pickup on that. I suppose when one is trying to go 67 on you, you can't overlook that. It blends in, given the toning. I do wonder what that's from, though.

This and the first one, though, I have to say, this guy does have some very nice-looking coins...

I never had a bad experience, but I can't stand how all he does is quote PCGS price guides and stats instead of qualitatively describing the coin. It seems soulless and boring.

What does the star indicate on the Grade? just that it is heavily toned?

The star indicates eye appeal. Only NGC awards the designation.

Sounds like he does not care for the hobby and is only interested in profits. Those poor coins! They need a loving home.

I see what your saying SC. Unfortunately, there are many dealers like that. I see them when I go to Long Beach. It is sad.

I'm sure under all that crud there is a beautiful coin. I agree with some of the others its not very eye appealing. But it is reasonably priced if your a billionare.
