Its easy to be side tracked when we cover so much material....START A NEW ONE GO FOR IT...

I would love to Gene, but I don't know enough about anything to start one. I have to be stimulated by the words or pictures of others before I can get feisty enough to even think. Normally, my mind is just a blank, in a dormant state waiting for something to wake me up.

Ugh, are we back on this thread again? (Maybe we could talk Dave into deleting it and a couple of others).

as knowledge, or disagreement's,,,, can be or originated from, I would think that the hub is a good start.....In vamming it is the same......
or is it the blame?.....For most of us with a minor back round with this subject...we have to ask who cares. yet that is another thread.... SO as far as the meat and potatoes, are concerned, lets start here....the reason being that most of the basics are originated here.....from the basics, are the extrapolations of what happens to the die in its production life.....and things such as (my own personal thinking here!!) Basioning/Polishing RE-finishing...much of this has been talked about separatly///...but I would like to come to an agreement on the whole GENERAL PROCESS,,I believe this has never been outlined......the fact is......the processes....are represented in the coins produced...the hints are known as vams, for the Morgan series..........while some coins are represented in there DIE STATE PROGRESSIONS,,,which is true....I still want to get to the bottom of the overall process........and I don't mean the coin entered the press and so and so..........this thread started from one place..........it incorporates the whole of the process of minting but we are lacking some important points.......
with all things, there is a starting point......we have been looking mostly at the results.....so have patience......and lets start at the hub........which differentiates many listings...... I will leave this here in broad terms......

Okay, starting at the hub then..... Since you are not afraid to discuss such things, what is your understanding of the physical difference between a master hub and a working hub.....not their intended usages, but the physical difference (if there is one).
Then the difference between a master hub and a master die?
A master die and a working die?

Quote: Good thing is as knowledge is the QUESTION Yes, but 'knowledge' is only a word, and I seem to have a different definition of that word which is thrown around loosely by those who self proclaim 'expert' status. To me, 'knowledge' differs from 'belief'.....individuals hold knowledge, cults hold beliefs. Now.... how 'bout those Hubs ?!

I take it that you are not a Chicago fan 'eh Gene? You know Gene, nobody seems to be able to mess with me to the extent that you do....you are the master of unpredictability. Did your friends used to call you Genie when you were a kid Gene? Mine had nickname for me as well, and I absolutely hated it.....I still do (but luckily nobody ever calls me that anymore).
